This website more than makes up for any lack of print material in the game.

Am I and my PUGs the only ones really using the map to draw paths, mark enemy groups, patrol routes and stop lines?

Fastest way to communicate in the game unless your group are total retards.

Well of course with guild voice is fast but even then using the map makes things faster and smoother.

As for whining: trying to explain the aggro circle to some people *sigh*
{edit} oh it's called "danger zone" in the manual...

Meatball / Mountain Man: since the game will change a lot, due to the streaming technology anet opted to put the lore and general information in the printed manuals. The real manual should be at http://www.guildwars.com/manual/ - for map look at http://www.guildwars.com/manual/interface.html#5

Admittadly that manual could use some fleshing out also.

Guys, you won't believe it.

Today I was looking to quest in the Shiverpeek Mountains (after Yak's Bend). I just said "Looking for a party which does not draw penises on the minimap". I got two people after 5 minutes, we ran out, killed some dwarves and I understood we need more. We got back to Yak's Bend and I said "Party which does not draw penises on the minimap looking for players". Someone said "You won't find them: they all do that" but I got two more players and progressed twice as far as I expected in 90 minutes.
The party was great, responcive and we sliced through any number of dwarves despite being level 9,10,11 and 12.

Sounds like a solid tip for finding the right kind of people

As good as stripping your female character naked and stand in the middle of the town if you want to sell something. Give her any item and it will be gone in a few minutes.

I draw on the minimap when I'm with friends just messing around..and sometimes I try and fill the entire map of pre seared Ascalon then spend hours explaining to people "How do you draw on the map?"

I got lucky with pick up groups so far.. the worst thing I've seen was someone writing "LOL", to which I replied by writing "hax". Someone also started a tic tac toe game once, but it's hard with the lines constantly fading...

Maybe we could have an annoyance rating, where you can rate a player on how obscense / rude he is. That way if you have a team mate thats just an idiot or you just got scammed in a trade, you can rate a person poorly. There ratings would be collective and viewable to everyone so that everyone is warned whenever dealing with the person, and possibly ignore them. Maybe the negative ratings would decrease gradually over time (a long) time so that a person grows up and becomes mature, their previous ratings wouldnt hurt them
Kind of like the eBay rating system. You can determine if the seller is worth it by looking at the feedback on them. The problem is resolution. Someone could trash someone who didn't deserve it. I'm still up for putting their picts on the bottles sold in the game with a caption underneath that says "Have you seen this scammer today?"
